I think the rise in disclaimers is a reaction to the notion of "cancel culture." Ask questions before passing judgement. Give folks an opportunity to explain, learn, or both. We can't be so afraid of offending that we never go deep. And we can't be so quick to be offended that we don't first try to connect and help someone see our perspective.
